Small showers are not exclusive to Ireland or Europe, but the practice to build / install small showers has continued in the region long after the practice faded in the United States.
Don’t worry about bending over to pick up the soap, because you can’t. You have to step out of the shower just to change your mind.

Elena worked for two days to clean this bathroom. The grime on the enclosure required the use of a mortorized scrubing brush. Despite the cleanliness status of the shower, it was to small for daily use.
To remedy this, we have installed a temporary tub / shower unit. Keep in mind that the main hot water supply, the hot-press, has been removed, leaving the only hot water in the house, as the instant hot water unit in the shower (known as a “Power Shower”). So, in MacGyver fashion, the 9KW instant hot water unit was replumbed back into the hot water supply to provide hot water throughout the house. See below.
